IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS


Conference sessions, round tables and communications and posters will take place

between the days 4 and November 8, in PERSON (there will be no remote sessions).


All sessions will be on the premises of PUC/SP, Campus de Perdizes, São Paulo, Brazil.

Access to the rooms does not require registration for the event. Any details are welcome!


The deadline for submitting papers (communications and posters) is June 30, 2024.

    Included in the 23rd EIP Program      


    The program of the 23rd IMP will feature:

    Conference sessions (Afternoon)

    Roundtables (Morning and Afternoon)

    Communications Sessions (Morning)

    All abstracts from the conferences and roundtables, as well as the papers presented in the communications sessions, will be published in the 23rd IMP Abstracts Book, in a bilingual version, and made available in PDF on this website.

  • Paper submissions for communication or poster

     General guidelines for authors who will submit work for COMMUNICATIONS OR POSTERS:    


    • General guidelines for authors who will submit work for COMMUNICATIONS or POSTER sessions:
    • All registrations for paper submissions at the 23rd EIP are free of charge.
    • Participants APPROVED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMUNICATION ou PORTER will be automatically registered.
    • Those who do not have their work accepted and want to participate in the event, as listeners and with the right to a certificate, must register as a listener.
    • All submissions must be made through the SUBMISSION FORM (CLICK HERE).
    • The same author may register only one work as the 1st author, without prejudice to participating in two or more as a co-author.
    • The selection of works will be based on abstracts and is the responsibility of the Scientific Committee of the IMP.
    • The works must be unpublished.
    • Abstracts should expose and contextualize the theme, clearly inform the objectives, have a clear and well-defined argument.
    • In addition to observing the summary and expository and conceptual clarity of the text, the commission will consider the thematic relevance to Pragmatism and related doctrines and its relevance as a strictly philosophical theme
    • The content of the information is the sole responsibility of the respective authors; however, the organizing committee reserves the right to make spelling checks or formatting changes to the information in the files, for publication purposes.
    • Only the non-portuguese speakers are allowed to send their paper's abstract only in English.
  • General guidelines for presenting approved communications

    Regarding the presentation of works approved for communication:  


    • All selected papers will integrate the schedule of the COMMUNICATION SESSIONS, which will be held in the morning, from 4th to 8th November.
    • Authors must present their work orally in PORTUGUESE, with the exception of foreign participants, who may present in their MOTHER LANGUAGE, English or another.
    • Given the international character of the event and the fact that there is no simultaneous translation, regardless of the language selected for the oral presentation, an ENGLISH VERSION OF THE COMPLETE TEXT OF THE COMMUNICATION, prepared by the AUTHOR, must be presented on the screen of the event, simultaneously with the READING of the oral communication.

    • Authors should prepare their paper to be presented in a MAXIMUM TIME OF 20 MINUTES. For this, the full text should not exceed 2300 WORDS.

    NOTE

    • Only oral communications presented synchronously will be accepted and counted for certification and attendance purposes; thus, the possibility of submitting previously recorded videos for oral communication presentation purposes is prohibited.
    • All participating authors must be present at the Communication Session Session corresponding to their work, at the time established in the event's Program, in order to be entitled to a certificate.  
  • General guidelines for presenting selected posters

    General guidelines for presentation selected posters


    • The posters should adopt the format provided by the 23rd IMP (see here the MODEL - will be available for download soon).
    • Authors must appear with their printed posters 60 minutes before the scheduled time for the session. 
    • The material for fixing the posters will be available at the venue.
    • During the set time for the poster session the authors should remain at the site and invite people to meet and talk about the subject matter of the work.
    • After the session, the posters should remain exposed throughout the Scientific Meeting.


     

  • General registration

    From Listener Registrations:

    • Access to the rooms does not require registration for the event. All interested parties are welcome! 

    From Participants Registrations:

    • PARTICIPANTS INVITED by the Scientific Committee will be automatically registered for the Meeting.
    • Participants who submitted work and were APPROVED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMUNICATION or POSTERS SESSIONS by the Scientific Committee will be automatically registered for the Meeting.
  • Certificates

    The issuance of certificates will be generated exclusively for participants who have submitted papers and invited lecturers. The issuance of a certificate of participation is subject to in-person participation. All 23rd EIP certificates will be generated in PDF and sent to the e -email informed in the submission form.

  • Publish your work on COGNITIO

     How to publish your work on COGNITIO:    


    The 22nd EIP invites its participants to submit their complete texts to COGNITIO - ISSN 2316-5278, Qualis A2 - electronic philosophy journal, published by the Center for Pragmatism Studies at PUC-SP since 2000.

    Submissions must be made through the journal's page, respecting the editorial project, publication rules and the peer review process adopted by COGNITIO.
